Karaoke for the Kids Fundraiser for Peru

Last Wednesday was a WILD one....filled with disco balls, mirrored walls, karaoke and lots of funds raised for my upcoming mission to Peru!! I cannot tell everyone how thankful I am for all the support and love I feel--over $700 was raised that night despite ice sheets covering the road and the 'wintery mix' in the air. These kids don't know what's going to hit them come January!! I can't wait to meet them and tell them they are already SOOO loved by these strangers in good ol' Missouri! It's so weird to think that a few weeks ago I was having slight anxiety about the lack of funds in my fundraiser efforts. I was trying not to focus on that, but instead of raising awareness about the orphanage and the sad-but-true stories composing these orphan's lives. I tried to turn my anxious energy into a prayer/mantra...God WILL provide, God WILL provide...and I'm floored every day at the humble generosity of friends, family, and even strangers. Ask and you shall receive!! And I have! In about a month, I've now raised about $2,500 for my trip and orphanage mission. The goal is $3,500, so just a little way to go people!
